Reporting to the Head of Brand and Content and working closely with the rest of the senior leadership team, you'lll ensure our social content is optimised to attract and deepen engagement with new and exisiting audiences.
Job purpose
We're looking for a motivated person to have strategic and creative ownership of our social media channels.
Working closely with colleagues, this role will balance organisational goals and audience needs to drive our social content strategy forward.
Along with managing the social media team, you'll work closely with teams around the organisation, external agencies, freelancers and contributors and manage our relationship with our moderation agency.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Social strategy
- Leadership and creative ownership of our social media channels, attracting and deepening engagement with new and existing target audiences.
- Minimising risk by ensuring social channel moderation is managed to a high quality, including ‘out of hours' and effective escalation of reputation concerns to senior stakeholders with recommendations.
- Creating and maintaining a sector leading retention, engagement and growth strategy.
Content strategy
- Creative brand expression on all owned, earned and paid social media channels, developing and leading an organisation wide, multi-stakeholder agreed calendar of content.
- Leading the commissioning and production of social content to increase engagement and reach by sourcing, briefing and collaborating with a diverse range of ‘social first' creatives, makers and influencers.
- Responsible for measuring, analysing and reporting of social media channel performance, including sharing and presenting results and insights across the organisation, including campaign performance, key trends and competitor benchmarking.
- Working with teams across the charity to offer strategic advice and support on national and regional social media content.
- Working closely with our national Media and Policy teams, ensuring we respond at pace to breaking news, promoting the services and messaging of the NSPCC where appropriate; identifying opportunities to position the NSPCC as part of public discussions and debates around child protection.
