REPORT TO: Cafeteria Manager and Principal RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the cafeteria manager, assist in the preparation and serving of food in a cafeteria. To maintain food service area, facilities and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition, and to perform related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ?assists in the preparation, cooking, merchandising, serving, cleaning of food?able to lift 40 lbs.?prepares food according to planned menu and standardized recipe?serves accurate servings of each product according to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Nutrition Standards?assists in the daily cleaning of all kitchen areas including washes and sanitizing of all serving, prepping and storage areas?acts as cashier, collecting money, making change and counting totals; including daily reconciliation of revenue and meals served?ability to correctly identify reimbursable meals, enforcing of meal charging policies?accurately checking trays for students with known allergies?replenishes food and beverages before, during and after lunch periods as needed?cleans kitchen equipment and storeroom at regularly scheduled intervals as determined by the Cafeteria Manager/Food Service Director?performs other duties required for the safe and orderly operation of the food service program?performs other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager/Principal?able to stand for extended amounts of time
